I'm looking for information regarding the latency of the SDI distribution 4K. Since it's reclocking, i'm thinking it could possibly be adding a frame, but the documentation doesn't not tell anything.


I need to send the IMAG camera feed to the guest productions mediaserver before the signal goes into my seamless switcher to the IMAG. I know going through their mediaserver alone will give a lot of delay, but i'm trying to get them to genlock to the OB truck along with my IMAG setup, to minimize this.

I'm getting one SDI signal from the OB. truck, and getting them to supply another SDI to guest's can be cumbersom.. Therefore i'm thinking of splitting the SDI signal with the SDI Dist 4k. But only if it doesn't add a frame or more latency.

Reclocking is not the same as frame sync. A reclocker should not add any appreciable latency, maximum a line, more likely less.

Splitting the signal before the guest production mediaserver is your best solution here, this is done all the time without any issue.
