Setting DNS Server on Atem mini pro

Hi!

I'm trying to set up streaming on an Atem mini PRO, which ignores DHCP nameserver entries and always shows the Google DNS servers 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4.

Unfortunately, external DNS servers are blocked in our network, so the Atem doesn't know how to contact any streaming service.

Is there a way to override the DNS servers and get a "normal" DNS setup on the Atem mini pro?

You could try using the IP address in the URL instead of the name. I hope this helps.

I ran into this issue myself recently where a State Agency had a locked down DNS. Ultimately I had to stream using OBS because we can't change this on the hardware.

That's a problem.

Can you expand a bit on that idea, Gary? I'm not quite following.

The DNS server basically looks up the name URL and converts to an IP address. If you know the IP address of your URL, you can put that in the xml file for streaming. Often you can obtain the IP address of your services using the "ping" command in a shell. Hope this helps.
