Camera Hook-up Multi Cable Snake

Hi All,

I'm looking for comments and recommendation on a multi-cable to make a camera snake. Fiber is not an option. Run length will be about 150'.

I'm hoping to run a single cable out to the camera ops that carries HD-SDI, comm signal and camera power. I guess what I need is a cable with 1-RG59, 1-shielded pair for comm and 2-3 unshielded for camera power. Has anyone found such a cable, or am I missing some key points why this isn't done more commonly? I was able to find lots of options with several coax and shielded pairs but nothing this simple.

Maybe I should just run camera power down a shielded audio pair if I can compensate for voltage drop over the 150' run?

Now that i think of it out loud maybe I also need power 5volts to run a BMD converter or wireless system.

If anyone can send links to a suitable cable I'd really appreciate it....or have some used cable for sale.

Thanks

Clark Wire has a custom configurable cable. Tell them what you want, and they shall provide it. I've used a lot of their cable in the past, and they have very good stuff.

That said, you may want to reconsider having only one video. With two, you can send genlock down the line, or return video for the camera person to monitor, or TelePrompTer, or all kinds of things. Or just have it as a spare. I'd also try to include at least one audio line, preferably two, in case you need it.

I use this cable for my multi core. It has 2 belden 1505a cables and 4 audio. It's pricey and heavy but works nicely.
