ATEM camera control not working on BMPCC4K
Posted: Thu Jun 01, 2023 10:07 pmThe camera control from our ATEM has stopped working for no apparent reason, but only on the BMPCC4K. I have scrounged the forums and internet generally and while I can find others who have had this issue, they have either not found a solution, or the way they fixed it is not applicable in my case.
Equipment:
ATEM Mini Extreme ISO
1 x BMPCC4K
1 X Studio Pro 4K
Up to 3 computers connected
1 x multiview monitor
1 x program / FOH monitor
I have swapped cables. Known good cables to the BMPCC. Suspect cables moved from the BMPCC to a Studio. No change.
Reset/reconfigured/rearranged HDMI ports. No change.
Multiple reboots of all the equipment.
Unplugged everything except the BMPCC, 1 Studio, and the multiview monitor.
The ATEM still receives the signal from the BMPCC and records that in both the Program and ISO files. However nothing appears to go from the ATEM to the camera. We first noticed that the camera wasn't recording but on investigation we found no camera controls are working at all - not able to change aperture, shutter, colour, - nothing! All this used to work and for reasons that aren't clear it just stopped.
I have ruled out cables. I don't think it is the ATEM as there are no problems with the other cameras, but it could be some BMPCC specific config. If it is the camera, I don't know what has changed. Maybe wear and tear on the HDMI socket?
Any ideas?
