Intensity Thunderbolt HDMI Out
Posted: Fri Jan 31, 2014 12:55 pmI am looking to purchase an Intensity Extreme or Shuttle (Thunderbolt) but from what I've been reading, the HDMI Out port only acts as a "pass-through". Are there any plans to change this so that it can output processed video? Im a video DJ and my Mac only has one thunderbolt port which I currently use to output to a projector/LED screen. My goal is to capture up to two live HD feeds and be able to mix them (one from a camera and one from another video DJ).
I also noticed that the USB 3 version doesn't work well on Macs (and my Mac doesn't have any USB 3 ports anyway) so that option is out of the question. Right now my only solution is to buy a thunderbolt hub/dock with HDMI out and also purchase an Intensity card, but I'd rather have less clutter in my mobile setup and not spend an extra $200 just so I could get a working output for a second display
