Audio Drop in Record using Media Express
I record a live weekly event using the BM Media Express in 720p 59.94 using Apple LT codec. I currently use a TriCaster TCXD300 as my switcher but also for its streaming purpose and as a secondary recording device. My set up for this event is an SDI out from the TriCaster to an UltraStudio Mini Recorder to an 8TB G-raid via Thunderbolt. I send the second Thunderbolt input/output to a Mac Mini in which the Media Express is installed. Now I've ran into an issue where I couldn't get my G-Raid to work so I had to Record to the Mac Mini HD which has 500GB storage capacity. When I did the recording this way I somehow got the norma Apple LT codec switched to 8 Bit Uncompressed Video codec. After the show was over I noticed in post the the audio from the wireless lav in the video had some drop outs, it almost sounded the audio board was compressing p-pops from the lav and a few other times sounded like the mic simply just cut out. I had this audio issue on the TriCasters mpg file, the f4v file the TriCaster created from the stream and the media express 8 bit UV. My question is since I used the 8 bit UV codec which chews up GB's quickly and the Mac Mini 500GB HD instead of the Apple LT/8TB Thunderbolt G-raid, could this method caused the audio drop outs on both the MacMini and the TriCasters RAW files? I only have the SDI output send from the TriCaster, there's no input to the TriCaster from the Media Express. Thanks for any input!
