HyperDeck Studio problem

Hi, I have a BlackMagic hyper deck studio that is giving me fits. It records great for a while, but then the counter stops. The red ring keeps spinning, and the audio meters and preview video keep going. But it is not recording. None of the controls function, and the only way to make it right again is to power cycle it.

Any way to fix this?

I have no idea if this will help or not, but HyperDecks run pretty hot. When we first got these, we had two of them racked up on top of each other with non-ventilated blank panels in the rack. They became so hot to the touch that they would burn you. I suspect that a lot of the times that people have problems with these, it is due to overheating. Maybe this is the case with yours? I dunno. But if I were you, I'd make sure it has rack space above and below it, and vented panels, so that it can keep cool. Maybe even a fan in the rack.

I really think BMD should worry a little less about making things small, and show a little more concern about heat generation.

I second that heat, get a meter that has a thermocouple and check the operating temp. It could be over heating which will eventually kill your unit. I have to Hyperdeck Studios Racked 1U between them. Later this year, Im going to put in a fan to help dissipate the heat a little
