Camera not detected

I just received my BlackMagic television studio. I'm happy with it, but I have a problem:
When I connect my Sony HDR-FX1E to the device, I dont see anything in my preview screen. But when I plug the camera in a cheap video grabber, I have an output.
What am I doing wrong? The Camera is connected from the s-video port. Do I have to modify settings on the camera or switcher?
