1 M/E Switcher and Tally Unit Connection Issues
Hello.
I am having an annoying problem with our 1 M/E Switcher and our Blackmagic Tally Unit. Both are on latest firmware updates.
When power is cycled, the Switcher connects to the Tally unit with no issues, however after a certain random amount of time, usually 2 or 3 minutes, it will disconnect from the Tally unit and not reconnect again until power is cycled. However after the switcher disconnects from the Tally Unit, it will also lose connection with any other device that is connected to it, i.e. the software or hardware control panel. It will connect again to the software control panel after a few seconds but then lose connection again after another few seconds, and the cycle repeats. However if the Tally unit is not plugged in, the switcher never loses connection at any point, so clearly the Tally unit is causing some kind of issue just being on the same network as the switcher.
Both switcher and tally unit have static IP addresses. I have tried daisy chaining the switcher through the tally unit and also connecting them to the network separately. Admittedly they are on quite a busy corporate network, so the orange light flashes on both of them like crazy, could that be the cause? i really can't see what else could be causing the problem at this point.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
