Supersource Problem

Does anyone else's supersource not work correctly? This is what mine looks like in SD and HD. Each box has pink, green and blue static all over the video.

Not seen this before on our Atem2.

Sometimes, the spatial re-sampling needed to "shrink" a full screen image down to fit in a DME box can create visible artifacts, often by picking up on some pre-existing artifacts in the original input images. The DME engine is supposed to filter or conceal these as part of its duties.

To exclude this possible explanation, I'd be trying differently sourced images (file type, raster size, compression scheme, subject matter, etc) to see if the problems go away. Check if the artifacts change if you zoom the box sizes up or down.

Otherwise it may be a technical fault.

It seems to work fine for a couple minutes when I first power up the switcher but after it heats up the colored static shows up no matter what type of video input I use.

The 2ME generates a lot of heat. If it works when you first turn it on, then exhibits the problem after a few minutes I would say heat is definitely a factor. We have a dual fan rack panel mounted behind our 2ME that blows right on the heat sink. It stays very cool to the touch and never has this issue. Maybe give that a try. If it is still an issue then call BMD and see what they have to say, if anything.
