C100 + UltraStudio Mini Recorder for Streaming

PostFri Feb 14, 2014 6:57 pm

Hi everyone, does anyone have any suggested settings for a Canon C100 > UltraStudio Mini Recorder (via HDMI) > MacBook?

I'm trying to stream from the C100 into Wirecast and/or Google Video Hangouts. But, I'm only getting blackscreen after having tried every setting imaginable.

All my software is current:
Mac OS X Mavericks 10.9.1
BlackMagic Desktop Video 9.9.2
C100 1.0.2.1.00

I realize this subject has been touched on in other posts (I apologize for the redundancy). However, I haven't come across a clear answer to this particular topic.

Thanks!!!!!

The most common problem are that you have to set the input to Hdmi in the Black Magic Utility program.
If not all you will get is black.
Have you set it to Hdmi?

Thanks! I've not got it working after testing the setup in BM Media Express. That said, it was set to HDMI in BM Utility; but, still not working.

Strange how all this stuff "works." More like vudu than science.

Thanks again!

It's usually quite easy to use. First thing you need to find out is what the camera is really outputting. You can usually find this out by connecting it to a TV and checking what the TV thinks it's receiving.
Assuming it's outputting 1080i, you then need to go into the BM control panel and set the 'Set Input' to HDMI and the 'Set default video standard' to either 50, 59.94 or 60 (if your TV report 60 then try 59.94 as well).
Once you've done that then go into Media Express and try the same settings

My bad with my last reply. I meant to write, "I've NOW got it working" instead of "I've NOT got it working."

Once I setup everything using BME, all was good.

Thanks!!
