TVS and chroma graphics

Hi,

I'd like to have moving lowerthirds even though officially it can't be done with the Television Studio.

Is it possible wilst using the chromakey functionality the TV studio to create a visual graphic leader played from a computer where we use a green color as chromakey and stack in in front of a camerashot?

Or do you have another idea?

Thanks
Petra

I´ll think that you're not understanding correctly what the limitation are for the TVS.
It can´t do moving graphics internally but there are no limitations when the graphics are done externally.
You can use cromakey but the best way to do it are to use a computer with 2 outputs, 1 fill and 1 key signal.

Hi Hakan,

Thanks. I do understand TVS can't do motion graphics, but indeed I'm looking for ideas to workaround this problem. So two signals are needed. You can't just play a After effects file with transparant backdrop I assume?

thanks

No, there are no way to get the alpha channel embedded into a single sdi or hdmi input of the Atems, thats why you need 2 channels to do a real alpha channel key. Croma or luma keying are the only options you can use if you only have a 1-channel solution.

Take a CasparCG for graphics and video playout. Works fine with ATEM. As "Hatl" wrote: you'll need two inputs. But with this, you can playout MOVs with alpha channels.
