I would like to make rack setup for live production using some equipment that i already have.

For now I have

4x sony ex3 - with full controls and monitor setup
2x dell 23" monitors that i would use as multiview and program monitors
1x hyperdeck studio with 2x 1TB samsung ssd
1x macmini - for control and recording by h264 pro

So this is how i see it:

video mixer: atem 1 4k
communication: Studio converter / 4 camera converter
tally: blackmagic tally
record: 4x hyperdeck studio - for every sony ex3
router: 16x16 smart videohub
replay sistem: 2x 2decklink duo with casparcg
graphics: 2x decklink monitor

It doesnt have to be blackmagic only sistem, but i would rather go to that setup...
Maybe studio converter would be replaced by data communication and so on if u have better advice...

I would like to add timecode generator for post production for every device in setup if that is possible, i dont know if all devices use TC with SDI ...

So, im all ear :D

What kind of productions are you doing? Fixed location? NTSC? PAL ? HD ?1080i or 720p?

Good details on some of the stuff you have, and what you think you might want, but fill in the gaps of the general concepts.

You might want to consider the 2-M/E switcher depending on your expertise and production level expected. Or if you need lots of extra aux busses. You can use a 1-M/E panel with a 2-M/E switcher.

Hi DarioRi,
have a look at cablematic flycases in particular "mesa di controllo" series.
I bought a 14u for my live production and you can find a rack until 20U
The company which produces these racks is in Spain but i received it in italy through Amazon.

Roberto

So, if I got this right, you are planning 1080/50i, and sometimes 720/50p formats. Or are you trying to used mixed 1080i &720p in the same shoot? If so, you will need some cross converters, as the ATEM switcher (or vision mixer, as much of the world calls them) will NOT handle mixed formats. You have to choose a format, and stick with it for all inputs when using the ATEM. BMD makes a mini-converter called UpDownCross, which will convert these frame sizes for you if needed. It also has a reference input, which may be of good use for you.

Next, did you say if this was a system planned to be mobile. Or is it in a fixed location? Since you said sports, I assume you will need to move this unit around. You will need cases/fly packs for that.

I will send you a private message with another comment the Mods might not like on here. :-)
