Olympus 12-40mm f2.8 and camera control

PostTue Jan 09, 2024 9:25 pm

Hi All,
Have a quick question. I’ve just acquired a some Studiocamera 2’s. (Yes the older ones).
They will be switched through the ATEM 1 M/E 4K.
I’m looking at lenses, and the question is, will I be able to use the camera control through the switcher to adjust focus and zoom on the Olympus 12-40mm f2.8? I would like the to stick with a fixed f stop and not have the variable f3.5 - 5.6 off the publicised qualified lenses.
This setup will be being used with a band in theatre environments to live switch the cameras to screen.
Thanks in advance.

So as no one replied, but quite a few viewed the question, I now have an answer. Yes you can control the lens through through the switcher to adjust focus, but with this lens, as the zoom isn’t motor driven, no you can’t do the zoom, but down the line I may add on a third party external motor drive. Hopes this may help someone else.
