Camera video feed is black

PostThu Feb 22, 2024 2:53 am

Hello everyone,

I’ll preface by saying I have no experience with audio and visual. I’m part of a small church and inherited the responsibility of running the audio and video so I’ll try and describe my issue as best as possible.

Recently someone restarted the Black Magic board as well as restarted the IMac everything runs through. When everything came back up all cameras returned as normal except for two. These two cameras can be selected on the board and rotated. However the video feed is black. I check the multi view to ensure they were assigned correctly and they are.

What else should I check? I’m confused as to why I wouldn’t get video but can move the cameras without issue.

Appreciate your help! Thank you!

What is the model of cameras you are having issues with? Are they different to the rest? Could they have also had their power reset?

In addition to camera models, it would be helpful to know which ATEM model you have.

Sounds like these are PTZ cameras. The signal to "move" the cameras is typically on a different cable/connection than the video signal, so it's not surprising that you're still able to move them (presumably via computer or joystick controller).

My initial thought would be a miss-match of signals coming in to your ATEM. Depending on model, you may need to have all cameras/sources set to the same resolution/framerate (which would generally need to match whatever the ATEM is set to). If you lost some of those settings after a power cycle, then it's possible they don't all match up anymore.

Hello,

I'll try and post as much information as I can. I'm a volunteer in my church trying to take this over, so I appreciate all your help to learn and understand the setup.

Equipment:
Audio: Behringer X32 board
Video board: Blackmagic Design ATEM Studio 4k
Camera controller: Telemetrics joystick controller
Computer: iMac
Cameras: 4 PTZ camera.

The two cameras that we are having an issue with are PTZ Optics cameras. I know that is just the brand, but I can't think of anything different. I did power the two cameras off and back on, and I can no longer move them via the controller. When I select the camera the controller just blinks which means I probably messed up that setting.

Connections from camera are all SDI. The controller connection is ran separately from the camera connections.

Even when I open the ATEM Software control I don't really see where I modify camera settings. It doesn't seems to be setup that way.

Happy to provide more info
