ATEM Mini stream data rate dropping

PostThu Feb 22, 2024 12:46 pm

We have an ATEM Mini Pro ISO with three cameras and one laptop as the sources. When streaming live and selecting the laptop showing powerpoint the data rate is dropping fast, from about 5 Mbit to 0. Once the streaming was interrupted. Selecting any of the cameras works fine.

Any idea what can be the root problem and/or the solution? Thanks for your help!

You may be trying to upload more than you have bandwidth for.
Several months ago I had the same problem.

I LiveStream to Castr and they send it to YouTube & FaceBook. Their tech support is very good and they respond quickly to the chat link.
They said the problem was that I was on FaceBook & YouTube reviewing my upload while LiveStreaming.
Because I was on the same Computer, it tripled my bandwidth use and exceeded my limit causing everything to freeze. I shut down the browser and restarted it with an upload speed of 6.2 or half of my limit.
8 weeks in a row everything went perfect and I have even been able to do a quick check on FaceBook only with no problems.

Thank's for your feedback. I agree with Roman. My current theory is that the ATEM Mini is "smart" and uses less bandwith to stream the static ppt, hence the bitrate going down. It still doesn't explain why the stream is interrupted.

Bitrate will depend on content. Less motion, less bits.

I've never had the stream actually drop out on a slide, though. That part seems odd.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.
