Teranex AV or Express

PostSun Mar 31, 2024 2:49 am

Has anyone ever used the Teranex Express or AV to clean up noisy broadcast G2 video with the image processing of the Teranex?

If so, how do you feel like it worked and looks?

We do some events that have less than ideal lighting so we are adding, what I feel, is a lot of gain to get a really nice bright image. Typically around 10db and sometimes more, up to 18db at times.

We use the B4 mount and decent Fuji lenses.

Thanks much for any thoughts.

my 2cts

- Teranex are only REC709 compliant.
- I have a noisy DVD of Crosby, Stills & Nash performance and It was a good occasion for me to learn deeper use of teranex. It needs time to find the optimal settings. Results was a little better but improvement was not trancendant. I have come to the conclusion that a correction does not replace a quality image source ;)

I'm not looking for transcendent. If I can remove some of that noise in the darker areas it would be great for me. It would help with encoding, live streaming flickering, etc.

Or learn how to accept the limitations of the rigs I own and make better pictures.

Suggestions are always appreciated on how to make better broadcasts.

18dB should be reasonably clean on the G2.

That's one of the native ISOs.
