blackmagic switcher software will not install

After downloading and extracting, the software fails to install. It gets stuck on the writing files part, and then says it can't find InstallerSupport.dat. Theres no way to remove that file from the zip folder to the folder i extracted everything else to though or direct the installer to it. System is a 64 bit running Windows 10 Enterprise. Any ideas?

First backup your computer by creating a restore state.

Make sure that the Switcher is connected either by USB or Router to the computer and recognized.

You will probably have to empty any cache, uninstall any related software in your Windows Computer, and delete any ATEM &/or Switcher files including doing a RegEdit from the command line and also searching for them with file manager in the Program and Program x86 folders.

Then try the upgrade again.

This is usually because the files were not extracted from the zip file before running. First extract all files from the zip file. Then run the installer from that location. It should work properly. I hope this helps.

Re-opening old thread, but I have exactly the same issue.

All files have been extracted from the zip into a separate directory. There is no InstallerSupport.dat in either the zip file or in the copied directory. I have attempted this several times trying something slightly different each time, all with the same result. I notice that this time the installer file is a *.exe whereas previously they have been *.msi files. The last update I downloaded was 9.0.1 and that installed without drama.

Found the solution in another post about ATEM Drivers (viewtopic.php?f=3&t=191298)

InstallerSupport.dat is a hidden file in the zip file. If you change the view options to include hidden files, you can then see it in the zip and copy it where you need to.
