First off, I will assume you meant to type 1855 and not 1885, since Belden 1885 is a CAT6 UTP cable.
I'm pretty sure this is the connector you are talking about:

The drawing shows a 0.020" hole for the center conductor. Whereas the Belden 1855 drawing shows a 0.023" center conductor. So even though the connector claims to work with that coax, it's drawing says otherwise.
I have on occasion, had a similar situation and had to steal a center pin from an RG-6 connector for use with an RG-59 shell. It happens. And you have to have similar models of the same brand of connector for this to work.
I've always hated AIM connectors. (a division of Emerson).
Bomar brand 310A205FV2 model should work for you. I've always like the quality as well as price of Bomar brand. http://www.masterelectronics.com/winche ... p=10763488 has some in stock. But there are others out there, just make sure to really look at the specs.
