ATEM Mini Extreme Cache filling up

PostMon Apr 15, 2024 9:11 pm

Hello,
I've installed a number of the ATEM minis with the company the I work for, and we have been noticing a common issue with the the SDI Extreme version. We can stream for a while, but after so long, the cache will start to fill up and start dropping frames or lag severely when streaming to Facebook.

This happens even if the stream quality is set to low. We have also verified that the upload speeds are adequate. This is still happening even when upload speeds are well above 100Mbps. We have also made sure that there are no restriction on the Local networks that the ATEM is connected to.

We Haven't noticed problems with YouTube as of yet.

Most of the time when we see these problems, we are using all of the video I/O, or close to all. We are just trying to figure out if this is a hardware or firmware limitation, or something to do with Facebook algorithms.

We do have a couple of Streaming alternatives we can use, but that requires extra hardware and cost. The BMD Web Presenter, or RESI. These would be in addition to the ATEM Extreme
