So new 4K Constellations just came out. Any chance they feature audio routing as HD8?

According to the manual page 62 this should be possible for all ATEM Constellation HD and 4K models now. I haven't updated the software on my HD model yet so I can't verify it.

the constellation hd models haven't had new firmware since last year, so still do not have this functionality

I can confirm, so far and despite what it can be read on the latest manual, NO audio routing for the ATEM Constellation HD line (as we own several 2ME and 4ME in this specfic line of ATEM Products).

Let's hope this will arrive in an not so distant future with an upcoming firmware update.

I have a feeling they don't even plan to implement this, because it would hamstring sales of their SDI routers.

I think most customers that have or would buy SDI routers also buy bigger switchers so from that point of view it would not make sense to not support this on the cheaper switchers. The audio capabilities of the ATEM switchers are already below par comparable to other brands so it would be a mistake to not support this over the entire product line.

While we're talking about it, I really don't understand why updates are not released for all products within a product line at the same time. First of all it's very confusing to customers that they download a newer software version but it will not update their switcher even when it's on a lower version because the update does not contains no updates for their model. I also don't understand why not all models have the same features. E.g. why do older models switchers support borders around SuperSource boxes but newer models not anymore. I can't believe it's a hardware limitation.

Coming from a software background I have very little faith in the software department of BMD. The lack of updates, the lack of fixes for very obvious bugs, the way updates are released... it all gives me very little confidence to be honest. I would really love to be hired as manager of the software department and make some changes.
