The creator of the METAControl app for Android devices, Deti Fliegl, has extended the code in the Pro version of the app and it now sends the status of the inputs of ATEM video switchers via USB to an interface board equipped with a PIC micro controller. The project is open source and at
http://www.metatally.com you can find all information to make your own system. Blank boards are available to make construction a bit easier but only a small number at this stage.
The hardware for a DIY Tally System has been designed In conjunction with Deti. The interface board provides 16 open collector outputs but an additional relay board can be hooked up to provide contact closure, selectable to ground or to +12V. The system can be extended to cover 16 inputs.
The tally information covers both Preview and Program so you can now have green and red tally lights on your cameras. By leaving the PIC off the interface board and by using its extension connector the circuit could be hooked up to Arduinos, Raspberry Pi's etc.
