Micro Studio Camera 4K (G1) + Constellation HDMI Control

I already searched through the forum but couldn't find an answer to my specific issue. My old (G1) Micro Studio Camera 4K have a serious issue and SDI In and Out are not working. HDMI however is perfectly fine.
I'm running a conference rack where with an Atem Constellation 2 M/E.
I've read multiple time it's possible to have Tally and Camera control working over HDMI. But before giving up with this faulty camera I would like to know if I can get camera control and tally working using a Bidirectionnal converter like so :
Atem 2M/E -> SDI In and Out to Bidirectionnal Converter & HDMI out from Studio Camera to HDMI in Bidirectionnal Converter ?
By setting the right camera number to the converter, do you think it could work ?
