Im making event streaming for http://www.elektrika.tv right now .. We are streaming live exhibition AMPER 2014 ( http://www.amper.cz ) everyday from 9 to 17 live to friday .. Its low budget production .. Maybe interesting for someone .. Here is some photos https://picasaweb.google.com/roman.pekarek/AMPER2014 .. Broadcastng is in czech language .. Tech : ATEM TVS for camera switching .. CaparCG for subtitles & playout .. FMLE for streaming ..
Theres not much you can do with these cheaper camcorders, I think most only have very limited ways to adjust whitebalance and other settings.
But that didnt matter to me with this broadcast it worked ok I think. Besides I dont like that unatural color everybody seem to aim for be it photografy or video.
What I noticed though is that the quality in fullscreen could have been a little better. When Im test casting on youtube both 720 and 1080 using the same kind of lowcost camcorders I respectfully but honestly think Its a little better when I get it right. Not much but a little anyway. Even a very lowlight outside cast turned out pretty good.
Probably you didnt have access to highspeed internet/fast uplink there so thats the reason why. On yotube you can cast up to 6000 kbps maby even more not sure.
Knowing the cam and have the time to fiddle with them and light conditions on the location is an important factor too so you can push it a little actually.
first thing is your connection (for broadcasting) .. we had 10/10 mbps on this show .. but owner is streaming everything in 640x360, 500kbps on his web www.elektrika.tv ..
