Webpresenter HD ethernet not working

When ethernet cable is connected to the ethernet port no Ethernet icon is displayed on the LCD screen, only text OK is displayed and streming is not working. The lights on the ethernet connector are not lit, neither on the router end (I have tested many cables, same result). I have also tested with DHCP an Static. The same result.

The only time ethernet lights on Webpresenter are lit is when it just booted up (1 sec).


However when a phone is connected a Smrtphone icon is displayed and streaming is working ok.

Have installed the latest 3.5 firmware.

Did the "Factory reset" from the Setup app. Did not help..

And as a side note: What is the point not letting the user to set stream key / pass pharse etc with Web Presenter itself??

Screen shot of the Web Presenter's config window. Plug in a USB C cable to the web presenter and the other end to the PC so you can actually configure. Check to see if its set to use MOBILE or to use ETHERNET.

It would also help to provide a screenshot of your computer's ipconfig, or list the following:

IPv4 address
Subnet mask
Default gateway

And my question to all WebPresenter owners: Does the light on the WebPresenter Ethernet connection lit up when ethernet cable is connected to it and to the switch/router?

Yes it does. Try setting to DHCP and see if it works. I had this issue once doing this helped due to something else on my network HAVING that ip I set in the static settings.

Of no avail.

Tried it on a Windows system also on a different network.

The network lights stays off and the app do not find WebPresenter (without a USB cable).

I just had the same issue with a webpresenter 4k. unscrewing the device from the rack solved the issue. i think the screws on the bottom of the box were putting some sort of pressure that caused the ethernet port to stop working.

as soon as the device was freed from the rack the ethernet port lights turned back on and haven't had an issue since.

Hi! Great to know! I had the unit also rack mounted from the bottom. Unfortunately in my case unscrewing did not solve the issue.

This seems to be a common flaw.

Fortunately warranty was still valid.

I wonder why no one suggested to check if warranty is still valid and send the unit back to reseller!

I understand your frustration, but no offense, but this is a basic thing and of course you have to check if the broken device still has warranty. So no need to remind that. ;)
