ATEM - Audio Meter Loudness Levels

PostWed Jun 12, 2024 11:18 pm

When showing sound levels, what is the length of time utilized in time averaging? What is being measured? - is it A weighted dB?

Two different things, though both are measured in db. A, B, C, etc., weight is a measure of SPL. The meters are measuring voltage. VUs and PPMs have standardized ballistics but I have no idea what the attack and decay times are for the Atem. You could probably shoot the screen at 60 fps and get a rough idea though.

Regardless of what the actual hardware is doing you’re limited to a refresh rate of 60hz. Even if the attack was instantaneous it would take 16ms before the change could be displayed.

Good Luck
