G2 and Digisuper 86 external power no lense control

PostFri Jul 19, 2024 1:19 pm

Sorry if this topic is known. I couldn't find anything for this specific problem:

Setup is as follows:

URSA G2, Sony Large Lense Adapter, Canon Digisuper XJ86x9.3

currently we are using the PTap output of the battery v-mount plate to power the lense.

This usually works, but it seems that the power draw is at the limit of the PTap output.
From time to time the lense does not boot up (acting funny, "power lo" warning). Eventually it will come to live when we put on a VMount battery.

For that reason I tried to use an external 12V power supply which works great. But now the G2 does not react when pressing "return", or "talkback" on the (Canon) zoom demand of the Digisuper??

Any help appreciated,

Knut

Are you not using the B4 Hirose connector to power the lens? If that cable’s not connected there’s no connection from the controls back to the cam. I’m using a Digisuper 76 via the Hirose and there’s no need for external power.

Good Luck
