New Install Camera Remote Control Question

Our church has just purchased an ATEM Mini Pro with two TONGVEO PTZ video cameras. Setup was pretty easy and we actually did a livestream after just a few hours of setup and limited training. The only real issue we hare having is the remote controls for the camera do no work as we thought they would. The remotes have a series of camera select buttons 1 2 3 4. When we press one the light temporarily comes on and we think we should just be working with that one camera, but instead, the remote effects both cameras at the same time. I figure we are missing something in the setup somewhere, just cannot figure out where. The guy who helped up buy and set this stuff up does not use remotes so he had no clue. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
