Ursa Broadcast G2 RTMP streaming to YouTube

PostWed Oct 23, 2024 11:30 am

Hi,

please help! I could not find any tutorial (nor is it described in the manual??) on how to stream with an Ursa Broadcast G2.

Camera is on software 8.5.1

I am trying to stream directly to YouTube using a tethered iphone. I have entered the RTMP key on the streaming setup pane (YT channel is eligible to stream) using "Primary Server".

The IP setting is set to DHCP and it gives me some 172.... IP when connected to the iphone.

But I am not able to turn on the stream on the setup pane????

Please forgive me if I'm just too stupid. Any help is appreciated!

Thanks,
Knut

To whom it may concern:

I accidently found out how it works. One must select any other recording codec than H264.

I.e. selecting „Blackmagic Raw“ (no matter which bitrate / compression ratio) works.

I guess the G2 does only have one H264 hardware encoder?

Anyhow, no help needed anymore.

Thanks,
Knut

Hi,

I just wanted to add to this as I was pulling out my hair trying to figure out why it would work sometimes and not others!
My camera is on 8.7 and the streaming will only work when I have the recording set to ProRes.
i.e. BRAW and H264/5 stop the camera's ability to livestream.

If you use the h264 codec, you do not need to select the sdi mode, but it only works with one of the three modes (high, medium and high). For each mode you choose, the compression level for streaming will also change.
