Any thought on how to have my atem mini HDMI switcher control the start and stop of my pyxis?
I connected the camera using Warrky USB C to HDMI Cable 4K. I get the image but it doesn't control the start and stop. I have connected the camera using a Blackmagic Design Bi-Directional SDI to HDMI 3G Micro Converter and having the sdi out to the timecode in connection on the camera. Changed reference source from internal to external. I get the image but no control on the start and stop for the rec.

I too am wondering if the PYXIS can be triggered. I was not able to get mine to work with my ATEM SDI Extreme ISO.

These are good questions. The PYXIS does not have direct ATEM control through HDMI or SDI. You can stream the PYXIS to the ATEM Streaming Bridge and use that for Camera Control. I hope this helps.

Gary, is it possible to use it with a Studio Converter via the Ethernet port and get camera control that way?

The Studio Converter is only compatible with the Studio Cameras with the 10G Ethernet Port. The PYXIS does not have the same protocol. Note with some 3rd party apps, the REST protocol over Ethernet to the camera would have camera control available.

It's a shame the Pyxis does not have camera control. I was looking at them for studio cameras, as are a few others, and not being able to control them impacts my decision. Just an FYI for the Blackmagic team.

It still does, just not Atem based. There's still USB, BT, and Rest. Personally I prefer that the Rest protocol has pulled BM cameras up out of the Atem sandbox. What would be really cool is for BM to develop a standalone software control similar to the Lumix Tether app.
Good Luck

Just in case it was missed. Stream the PYXIS to the ATEM Streaming Bridge and you will have full ATEM Camera Control. You don’t have to use the video. The control is over Ethernet.
