Two different HDMI Outputs for Two Different Program

PostMon Dec 16, 2024 6:10 am

Hey Guys!

Very new to switchers and live production. Our team has a ATEM MINI PRO Extreme, and we're in sort of a stalemate because of a feature we would like to add but cannot at the moment because we dont know how.

We have two computers and 2 cameras set up, one computer as an input to send lyrics with chroma key background using pro presenter, and the 2 cameras being switched to overlay and go on top of the lyrics.

The second computer is soley used for the purpose of live streaming on YouTube, and is directly connected to the switcher. One output of the ATEM Mini PRO is used to go to a screen.

We wanted to use the second computer (or a third computer if needed), to have a background video overlay on the chroma key from the first computer.

This would mean two of the outputs of the atem mini pro extreme would have different overlay of inputs, 1 output being computer chroma key lyrics + camera 1 or 2, and hopefully the second output being computer chroma key lyrics + background video.

We werent able to build this in any way, is there anyone that could give a bit of guidance on how we can achieve this..?

Thanks in advance!

Sounds like you need another M/E or output. This is where most people upgrade to an ATEM constellation or something beyond just the ATEM minis.

It is certainly easier with a larger switcher. I'm also not sure whether I understand your layering and whether there are enough keys available...

But it may also work for you this way:
You can set the first output to Program
You send the Preview to the second output.
Now you can provide the lyrics layering on the program level.
In the next transition area you can compile the key for the preview level. If this layer is to be used as input for the first layer, then output two must be transferred back to a free input via HDMI. :o
