To get the obvious out of the way first, I realize the ATEM itself does not have internet capabilities outside of being able to connect to a source. My question is instead of having to be at the mercy of the venue's potentially unstable internet... what are others using to guarantee a perfect connection every time? Thanks!

First of all choose a location that can provide stable internet by wire
If this is not possible, due of customer location choices, let them know in advance when you did your technical agreement with the location, weeks before the event. Its always best to be involved in event planning right from the start.
Many hotels will offer just wifi unless you force them to supply a wire based access. Some hotels will need to contact their often remote IT support to give you access. But this alone will not be enough, unless you can check transfer speeds and see if there is enoigh bandwith at the daytime when your event is planned.
So alyways checdk and speak to the IT that supplies the access.

Sometimes we use bonded 5G routers to supply our own internet access if there is no or not good enough internet access on location.
We will warn the customer of possible problems, even if we did a 5G network check on location, and need to go trough 5G.

Last year I bought a LiveU solo. With the solo (the lowest end model), I can use ethernet, wifi, and two bonded cellular modems. After the cost of the liveu solo unit, I have to pay $300/month to turn on the cellular modems and the bonding service. But I can turn it on or off by the month as needed. I pass this cose on to my clients. When I go in for my stream test, I always love to show the IT staff that I can unplug the ethernet while streaming and my stream doesn't go down. Overall I have been vary happy with my purchase.
