All ATEM panels allow you to select any of the four M/E's, even the ATEM Micro Panel. So it really depends on how complex your shows are and what you require. If you are using one M/E only for IMAG and one M/E for broadcast for example I would suggest doing the IMAG via software or companion. If you are using multiple M/E's for the show it could be useful to have a panel that has buttons for 2 or more M/E's. However if you only use the extra M/E's to prepare SuperSource or other multi-layer screens with upstream keyers you could get that all pre-programmed in Companion and only use that M/E as a source in a lower M/E. So yes, it depends on what you do with them.
