Production Studio 4K and tally lights...

PostThu Mar 06, 2025 1:52 am

Hello, I have a Production Studio 4k switcher and a Studio Camera 4K Pro G2. I'm trying to figure out how to get the tally light on the camera to work from the Production Studio 4k. Inputs 1-4 of the switcher are HDMI, and 5-8 are SDI. I have the camera connected to input 7 on the switcher (SDI), and in the ATEM software, I have input 7 routed through a source 3. I've tried setting the camera to act as camera 3 and camera 7, but I'm able to get the tally light to work at all (or be able to paint/adjust the camera levels).

Can anyone give me some advice? I want to get the tally working.

SDI is a single-direction connection so for data to get FROM the Atem TO the camera you need an SDI output from the Atem to be connected to the SDI input on the camera.

The tally and lens/colour balance information for all cameras is embedded in the SDI PGM output from the Atem (so you need to ensure your camera is configured to pick up the data for the right camera).

(HDMI cameras work differently as there is a data connection both ways on a single HDMI cable)
