Hyperdeck HD Plus & Hyperdeck HD Pro H.264-Sequoia Mac OS

PostThu Mar 06, 2025 4:31 pm

Hello everyone!

I have a Hyperdeck HD Plus and a Hyperdeck HD Pro. I have had them for years without incident.
However, when I updated to Mac OS Sequoia 15.3.1, I can no longer open ANY files previously recorded. All I see is the Quicktime logo but the files will no longer open. I can view them with VLC or IINA for Mac but the files cannot be opened for editing at all. They were all files previously recorded as H.264 files.

I have upgraded the firmware on both Hyperdecks to firmware 8.5.2.

Since the firmware upgrade, I can only record to ProRes formats which are considerably larger files.
All Files previously recorded prior to Mac OS Sequoia 15.3.1 can no longer be opened.

Yes. The recorded files do play back on the Hyperdeck iteself. However, when transferred to the computer, ie, hard drive ssd, SD card, the files cannot be viewed.

Can anyone help? I can now only record huge files as most of my videos are long form.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

I'm having the same issue, looking for a solution. My files are also massive so having to do these crazy workarounds with other computers (my older Intel Mac for instance) is a bit of a nightmare.
In the meantime, I've gotten this program called EditReady. I put the file through that first and it fixes whatever the problem is.
Obviously not ideal. I called Apple and they have no idea.
Let's post back here if anyone finds a solution...thanks!
