Remote Zoom/Focus URSA Broadcast G2 from Control Room?

Hello,

I've searched everywhere, but I couldn't find much information. I have several Broadcast G2 cameras, and I'm looking to extend my zoom and focus demand controls over a 100m distance to operate them from the control room using handles. Controlling zoom and focus from the ATEM software isn't very precise or responsive for live multicam productions.

I know that USB doesn't work over such a long distance, so I was wondering if converting USB-C to RS (232 or 485) could be a viable solution? I would have preferred to connect the zoom/focus handles directly to the ATEM software, but it seems that this isn't possible.

What do you think? Any ideas?

Thanks for your time! ;)

Cyanview has an option to connect the Zoom remote / Focus remote to their Shading panel by USB. They can control an Atem / Camera..

Not a cheap solution but its a solution. ;)

you can try something like an ethernet USB extender, I use it for some other solutions, I think it will work for this if you find the correct module

I use Adderlink and Visionary 4K KVMs. Run the VF into the box and one could control the cam from anywhere on the network.

Good Luck

We are developing a software solution for this. Makes the BMD Cameras controllable from BMD demands and even PTZ controllers. You can ping me a direct message if you want to try the beta
