How much of the Thunderbolt port function is going to be lost if I was to plug it into a USB4 port, I am wondering right now.

USB 4 is effectively a bunch of standards - not all of which are mandatory. I expect the USB 4 port will need to support the optional Thunderbolt element of the USB 4 standard to work? (That's the bit that effectively extends PCI-E over the connector to allow things like Video capture and output in the same way as a Decklink or Ultrastudio does?)

After doing a lot of research, I found that the USB4 on my mother is Thunderbolt compatible and should work. I will find out once I get the Atem Mini Extreme ISO G2, I do have a Macbook and an Intel based laptop with Thunderbolt just in case.
