2110 & Unifi Aggregation Switches

PostSat Apr 12, 2025 9:55 pm

Hi All

In summary: Will a Unifi aggregation switch be sufficient to handle the bandwidth for 2110 transmission? I can't see why not but I'm new to this system and I have these aggregation switches available - I would rather use the standard aggregation as they're lighter but I can't figure out if they are up to it. So excuse my ignorance - what am I looking for in a switch for this protocol.

My full proposed setup is below, if you think it will work or not I would love your feedback and comments - Thanks.

I am looking to build a remote switcher panel for my onsite live. broadcasts since Lighting (for some reason) tends to be forgotten a lot.

I am putting a Smart Videohub 40x40 in the truck to take all the feeds in and outputting on SDI 1 to a 2110 Mini Bi-Direct 12G SFP.

This will be connected via fibre or 10G to a UNIFI AGGREGATION SWITCH ( OR a HIGH CAPACITY AGGREGATION) Found Here : https://uk.store.ui.com/uk/en/category/ ... ggregation or https://uk.store.ui.com/uk/en/category/ ... ggregation

I'll obviously link 2 of these via fibre and out of the second aggregation switch I will go to a second 2110 Mini Bi-Direct 12G SFP

This will then feed a monitor via SDI or go directly to a Smartview 4K G3.

I will then plug a Videohub switcher or a Streadeck into the switch to route the 40x40 feeds to output 1 as needed.

Does this sound like a system that will function as my brain thinks it should?

Thanks in advance
