G2 Camera Control Issues with ATEM Software and Switcher

PostTue Apr 22, 2025 5:31 am

We are currently using a G2 camera connected to the ATEM Television Studio Pro via a Fiber Converter, and the camera is also connected to the ATEM software.

The issue is that when we adjust settings like the iris or gain directly on the camera, the values automatically revert back to the ones previously set in the software.

Is there any way to prevent the camera from reverting to the software's settings after manual adjustments?

We've looked through many resources and tried various suggested methods, but the issue still hasn't been resolved.

It would help if you specified what camera you're working with. 'G2' only indicates that it's a second gen but not the model.

Regardless of the camera, when doing HDMI or SDI control the camera will _always_ follow that instead of any settings you manually apply on the body.

I'm assuming that you're using the Ursa Broadcast G2 but it'll be the same with most BMD cameras. If you are using camera control then it will always override settings made to the camera. The iris is easy enough if you ate using B4 lenses, all you need to do is switch the M/A switch on the lend near the zoom rocker to M for manual. That will give you local control but you'll have no control via the camera controller. If you want local gain control, it's probably easiest to disconnect the return from the camera but you'll lose tally. Generally we would have an engineer look after iris and gain.

I believe you can set camera model in software control to “none” which will remove the camera channel from camera control page of software. You will retain tally and intercom, but no camera control data will be sent.
