Cage for Studio 6k Pro / Mounting Solution(s)

PostTue Apr 22, 2025 5:30 pm

Hello I have been looking around for products to buy or even DIY but only find for BMPCC 6k. My church uses 2 Studio 6k Pro for their SDI controlling on HD8 Atem and I've been wanting to add a secondary camera to record two angles at once.
I ended up going with the Lumix S5iiX, which can be mounted above and record open gate; which would help for editing videos for social media. Camera would have to be above to prevent distractions walking into frame when broadcasting and allow subject being followed simultaneously without a second operator. I can only think of an L bracket but nothing large enough for the studio cams. Any suggestions? maybe im stuck viewing it one way and am overlooking a simpler solution.

I’ve hung MS4ks from jibs and underslung them on box lenses to get additional wides for post. Why a Lumix in a BM environment?

Anywhoo, I’d probably try and build something using the 15mm rod base. You might try to rig a side plate or a C shape for top mounting. A Micro could sit eye to eye with the 6k in an underslung configuration for about $20 in Smallrig parts, a DSLR will require more creativity.

Good Luck
