Hi,

We've got a production coming up where we would like to use PTZ cameras in conjunction with the ATEM mini extreme pro (HDMI). I was looking at the Blackmagic IP Converters, but I wanted to ask if anyone know how we would include a PTZ controller via ethernet?

I know from camera to converter via ethernet then output HDMI is ok. But can I route them via a router to get camera control too via the PTZ Controller?

Just to help.

The ATEM switchers only receive SDI or HDMI signals, depending the model.
Yours is HDMI, so you must connect the cameras using HDMI cables.

Now, the network connection from each camera to a network switcher or router (depending on your setup) is for controlling the cameras using a PTZ controller (hardware) or an app, and receiving an NDI signal using the network connection at the same time.

I don't know details about your project setup is; you may need ATEM, or if you're using Ex:VMix workstation (preferably with a dual network card), you can use the NDI signals (video) directly in VMIX computer.

Again, depending on your setup, let says: if you are using a streaming system like Vmix or OBS, you can use both: HDMI video signals and NDI signals at the same time as "redundancy" Ex E\in case the Atem fails)

Hi Nelson, thanks for the update.

Im wondering if I can connect the PTZ controller via a router that the camera is attached to (to send PTZ info to the camera) as well as a Blackmagic Design IP 2110 to HDMI converter to get the video signal from the network cable the camera is providing and translate that to HDMI for the ATEM mixer.

I've looked online but no one created a setup like that, I'm just not sure if the protocols work that way or not.

NDI is not 2110. The Blackmagic 2110 to HDMI converters will not receive an NDI feed. Those cameras don't look like they are capable of outputting 2110 either.

Thanks I did some further research and yeah, 2110 and NDI aren't the same and this setup won't work.

Also the new Osee GoStream Duet 8 ISO can accept NDI HX sources over the network, might be a solution.

That's right, two different things. NDI and 2110 (they're two different worlds/languages ).

If you're using ATEM, you'll need HDMI cables (or SDI, depending on your case). PLUS network cables for PTZ camera control.

If you're using another system that supports NDI, you'll use network cables. (NDI + control).

I have never used Osee GoStream Duet 8 ISO I don't know if support NDI inputs
