Making a Rudimentary Virtual Set

PostMon May 19, 2025 10:11 pm

Hello, everyone,
I have written an instructional document on how to easily create a rudimentary Virtual Set using the ATEM switcher. For anyone interested in doing something like this, it can be a fun start. I must emphasize that this is NOT a dynamic virtual set. It simply uses the Macro function to swap a keyed background image with each camera setup. With the Extreme ATEM versions, you can also easily change cameras using a single button with the Macro buttons on the front panel.
I tried to attach the PDF document here but got a message that the file extension PDF is not allowed.
Not sure why that is...but I will include my email address here, so if you are interested in receiving a copy of this document via email, I will send it to you. I hope someone will find it useful. Of course, if money is no object for you and you have a computer generated virtual set that can follow camera movements, this will likely be of no interest to you. But to those on a tight budget, it offers an inexpensive option that can be employed on virtually any model of ATEM switcher, but playing macros with the buttons on the Extreme panels will make it much easier operationally.
I would appreciate any comments or feedback, especially if this is a useful idea for you.
