ATEM Project Won't Open in DR19

PostWed May 28, 2025 10:11 pm

Working on a two-camera, ATEM-switched dance recital project. ATEM output saved to a 2TB Samsung T5 SSD, and streamed to Vimeo. Black Magic ATEM is a Mini Iso Pro that has performed reliably on many prior projects. (Editing in Resolve v19.1.3 Build 7, on a dedicated Apple MacMini, 32 GB, M2 Pro, running Sonoma 14.5)

I have transferred the entire unaltered ATEM file to my Mac's local hard drive.

When I click on the ATEM's .drp project file, it appears to be opening normally, but then produces "An unknown error occurred while importing the project." message. I have tried opening the project from the Samsung SSD as well, with the same result.

The second half of this recital was shot with the same setup, and saved in the same way to a separate file name... and the second half opens normally, free of any errors.

The file structure and file sizes within the two ATEM folders would indicate that all the data from the first half of the recital are saved to the SSD, but the .drp file refuses to open.

I have shut down and restarted my editing station without success.

Is there any hope that I can save this project file? If I have to go all the way back to my cameras' SD cards to complete this project, then every dollar I've spent on Black Magic equipment was completely wasted.
