ATEM Television Studio, Multiple Computer Inputs

PostThu Jan 29, 2015 9:25 pm

Does anyone know if the ATEM Television Studio would work with three computer inputs, via HDMI, and one or two HS SDI inputs (video)?

We know it is a video switcher, but we try to stay with BMD products when possible, and there honestly really not a lot out there on the market for on screen graphics and IMAG switching. Just returned a Kramer VP774 because it didn't work well.

We are currently are using the 1M/E, but this only has one HDMI input. The TVS has several. It is easier to go from Mini Display Port to HDMi than to HD SDI. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Err there are loads of products for data switching. Most of them are a lot more flexible than the ATEM.

You can run 3 computers into the TVStudio - but they must be either 720p or 1080i the ATEM EDID still doesn't work properly so you will find that it is hit and miss getting computers to connect.

I would look at Extron, Kramer Analogway or Barco switchers for data. they are much more suitable than the ATEM.

north : ATEM TVS have inputs : 2 HDMI , 2 SDI , and 2 inputs are individually switchable HDMI <-> SDI .. So u can use 4 HDMI inputs + 2 SDI inputs .. As Tom said , it is hard to setup computers to use right resolution usable in ATEM TVS .. 1080i is problem .. 720p is usable , bud depends from your computers .. another sollution is use any scaler between ATEM TVS and computer .. One of the cheapest is http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1 ... ports.html

Thanks. We are currently outputting 1080p from our iMac in to the ATEM 1M/E. When we switch to 1080i, and switch that output on the iMac, it works as well. I agree with the EDID issues. It is hit and miss.
