No AES/EBU signal from Yamaha 01v to audio-to-SDI converter

PostSun Feb 22, 2015 12:11 pm

Hi,

We would like to use our "old" 01v (non-96) with MY8-AE card, to make a connection possible between the Yamaha 01v mixer and our Blackmagic "audio-to-SDI" converter, which has four inputs and is compatible with AES/EBU. The converter should give us the possibility to record 8 separated tracks from the stereo mix on our Blackmagic Hyperdeck Studio Pro.

When we connect our Yamaha mixer (after we soldered the DB25 -> 4x TRS cable), there is no output signal coming from the Yamaha into the BM converter.
Another devices with AES/EBU like the Avid Adrenaline video breakout box are working fine on the Blackmagic Audio-to-SDI converter (and on the Hyperdeck as well). Can someone tell us what we're doing wrong?
We checked the settings/routing of the mixer serveral times and it seems that anything on the Yamaha is okay. The cable is checked as well. We're also sure that we used the right pinout to solder our cable (the one that is posted on the website from Yamaha), so I think that's not the problem.

Who can help us out?

Kind regards,
Luke P.
