HyperDeck Studio File Transfer

PostSat May 09, 2015 9:04 pm

is it possible to transfer files directly from the HDSP over the ethernet port to a mac? or though the Thunderbolt cable? there has to be a way to do this.

Does thunderbolt work for file transfer now? It was realtime video capture only last time I tried.

Have they fixed up a way of getting NLE generated files to play out of a Hyperdeck yet? (as in a easier straightforward way?!?)

I've never had an issue with that...

Render to the same format that the deck is set to record in. Copy file to SSD. Put SSD in Hyperdeck. Play file.

What doesn't work is using mixed formats or frame rates on the same SSD. But this is true for recorded files too (if you record a file in dnxhd and then switch to prores you cannot then play the dnxhd file)

I always use 16bit 48k stereo audio on my files and I generally use dnxhd.

I'm not quite sure what people have trouble with / find complicated. You can always get oldschool about it too and do print to tape with a decklink controlling the Hyperdeck via rs422 :)

the problem is with the sound.

I have never had picture problems but it is very picky about the audio formats; especially multi channel.
