TVS and UltraStudio Mini Recorder on same Computer

Hello,

I recently bought a TVS and a UltraStudio Mini Recorder with Thunderbolt.
I want to capture the mix from TVS over HDMI with Mini Recorder on the same Windows computer I control the TVS with.

First, I downloaded and installed new Desktop Video 10.4 for Windows for the Mini Recorder.
After successful testing I downloaded Software for Atem Switchers 6.4 for Windows for my TVS.
During installation, Setup told me that I have to uninstall Desktop Video first.
I did that and run Atem Switchers Setup again. Thus, the Mini Recorder was also installed automatically with Version 10.3.7. Then I tested my complete hardware setup and it works good!

My questions are...

Will Atem Switchers Software automatically update my UltraStudio Mini Recorder drivers and software with future releases?

Is it best practice to stay with this versions for Mini Recorder or is it possible and/or recommended to update to newer releases like Desktop Video 10.4 for Mini Recorder?

u can directly record H264 stream from USB port on TVS .. U not need MINIrecorder ..

Switcher software does not update the desktop video software I think...

I'd try the latest firmware unless there is something no functioning.

It looks like switcher software was packaged with Desktop Video driver version 10.3.7. Like I said , I had to uninstall previously installed Version 10.4 and after switcher installation there is 10.3.7 installed. I just want to be sure having a stable system for my events.

Normally you get the latest desktop driver when you update the Atem switcher. In this case the desktop 10.4 was released a week after the latest Atem Switcher update. One thing thats much better with 10.4 are the auto detect of video format.

I want to give you the answer which the support has told me...

Like Hakan said, you get the most recent Desktop Video driver release with Atem Switcher software but you can update on top Desktop Video software with newer releases if you like.

In this particular case Desktop Video 10.4 was released a week after the latest Atem Switcher update.
