ATEM Multivew Labels

I have the ATEM 2 M/E 4K switcher and I have a question about the multivew output. The labels on preview and program are completely unnecessary and cover up parts of our lower thirds and graphics. Is there a way to move them to the top or, better yet, remove them?
Please advise.

There is no way to remove the labels but I will pass this along as a feature request.

Two Thumbs Up. Those labels are right smack in the way of any lower third graphics, and there is not a thing you can do about it.

+2 for this.!! Having the same issues. Were you need a external monitor a lot of times to have a good reference.

It's worth noting that with 6.5 and later firmware, you can change the Long Name of the ME1 & 2 Program and Preview "Inputs" to be shorter, e.g. "PV" and "TX" which helps a little with this.

I would love love love the ability to set the preview/program labels to show the source label that is current. That would be fantastic!

You can even completely now remove the labes by just deleting all characters in the ATEM software at least version >= 6.6.1.

Great idea Baz! Would love to be able to do this. I can type "mm 2" no problem. Now how to I do this with terminal? No clue...sure its easy but no idea how you get there. I can use the terminal feature on my macbook or is this something else?
Can anyone assist?
Thanks in advance
BMD please make this happen if at all possible. I too need to use another monitor to read the L3rds that are in the media player hopper.

Where were you able to make a change like this to PV and TX? Within the ATEM Software Control?

Yes it's in the BMD App.

Is something wrong with people on the forum today - weird questions man?????
As Uli Peters mentions, you simply set the Long Name to blank, and your UMDs will be gone......

Has anyone else figured this out? I've googled for hours looking for a way to terminal into the ATEM to make the 'MM 2' and can't seem to find anyone else able to do it.

There is no way to run a terminal to control the Atem. This must be done with special software that keeps the protocol of BMD alive.

I recently upgraded to ATEM Software Control Version 8. My Preview and Program labels were replaced with "Black" and "Black" as shown in the picture. I cannot find a way to change the labels back to Preview and Program. Is there a way to do this? Thanks

I have the exact same issue after I updated the software last week.

Did BMD ever resolve the issue where the labels say BLACK and BLACK instead of Program and Preview? It's rather annoying!

There were a couple of ATEM firmware updates 8.0.1 and 8.0.2 since this problem was introduced (in 8.0). Probably worth trying as it's possible these resolved the issue.
You can also roll back to firmware 7.5.2 as described in this thread:

Yes, count me in for being able to control all aspects of labels in the Multi-View for all Blackmagic devices with this feature.
1. We should be able to relabel any input
2. We should be able to move the labels to any part of the screen (uniformly)
- Pixel perfect in the corners would be a fantastic option
3. Being able to turn off all labels should be an option as well
- To achieve this, you could make the borders for Preview green and Program red when the labels for these two are turned off
4. I'd appreciate granular control of being able to toggle off labels for certain multi-view screens / inputs entirely and unless re-enabled

One more thing, my primary reason for requesting this is because BM Multi-view labels perfectly cover the MacOS login field. It is a whole separate problem I have to where my Black Magic screen is constantly being used as my login screen. If you happen to have any way to fix that or prevent that through software / hardware, please PLEASE do.
