ATEM muli output screen: line on preveiw ME1 SDI&HDMI

ATEM 2 Production switcher (or mixer as we say in the uk

Main split screen (multi channel display) screen:
bank ME1
PREVIEW screen/window has a long white dotted 'tear line' approx 1/8 of the way down.
(this also slightly intrudes into the Transmission window screen along side)

MULTI VIEW OUTPUT 1 both SDI & HDMI

disappeared briefly after latest firmware up date but is now back ?
(regardless of monitor connected)

NB Final Transmission both output and solo display is clean.

If you sett he ATEM to a different resolution and frame rate and switch back, is the white line still present then?

Which ATEM driver/firmware is installed?

It is the same problem here on our ATEM 2 M/E multiview output.

Thanks for the picture. This is definitely not doing what it is supposed to be doing.

Do the white dots ever go away?

Not that it should be a driver related issue, but have you updated to ATEM 3.5?

From your first post, it looks like you might be located in the UK. If so, you may also want to contact our UK support as this might end up being something we will have to RMA.

I hope it's not an RMA issue- my 1m/e and 2m/e both do it intermittently- and always have!! No matter what software I have had in them. I've just ignored it......seems to happen more when the kit is cold- but I can never get ti to happen when I need it to. Oh, I'm in the UK too.....

I intermittently have the same problem running 3.4 in 525i a restart clears it.

Hey Guys,

For everyone that is experiencing this issue, I'm going to need a full list of what models of hardware is being used, down to the cables.

It looks like Dave posted that this only happens on a cold start. Does this happen for the rest of you guys as well?

Does this horizontal white dotted line happen on both HDMI and SDI Multiview outputs? Do all outputs on the ATEM exhibit this issue or is it only present on the Multiview out?

Also, if no inputs are connected, does this issue still show up?


Information I am looking for includes:

*What model of ATEM
*What driver/firmware is installed
*What video sources are being used (models please)
*Which inputs/outputs are populated or connected
*What monitors/projectors are being used (models please)
*If store bought cables are used, which brand

This information should help us narrow down the issue. Thanks!

Both our mixers ( 1M/E & 2 M/E) are in sat uplink trucks- usually it shows up as soon as we power the trucks up, generally first power-up of the day.....but not all the time. Have tried de-powering and re-powering.....still there......but, I've seen us do some live stuff, power down, move to another job in the afternoon and when we power up it's gone- mixer is fine.
Only ever appears on the multiviewer- never on any other output.....
On our 1 M/E there's usually the SPG connected at power-up, but the 2 M/E generally has nothing connected at power-up.....I only bring it into circuit via a videohub when I need it......

Haven't checked the SDi multiview out- will do that.....

But, it's been really cold here recently, I've got night heaters in the vans, but it hasn't happened at all in the past month........

We have a 1M/E running 3.4, and the 2 M/E is running 3.1.1.
1 M/E has 4 SDi to HDMI miniconverters on inputs 1-4
2 M/E has videohub on first 6 inputs and outputs- the rest are on a patch panel
Using HDMI 1m cables on the multiviewer outs (unknown brand)

All signal cables in both trucks are Canford SDV-LFH cable, info here:

Video comes from either HDW-750 or PDW-700 s- either hard wired or on fibre via camera converters and a studio converter.....

We are experiencing the same issue. Was there ever a resolution to this?

We've been experiencing the exact same issue for the past couple of year and still haven't found a solution.

One clue is that we have a BrightEye 56 HD/SD Test and Sync Signal Generator hooked in to our system. If I power that down and power cycle my ATEM 2 M/E the lines go away and don't come back unless I turn on the BrightEye 56 again.

Any ideas?

Unfixed bug in ATEM Firmware or Hardware Design.

Also using Reference Sync generator with ATEM and sometimes having this problem on ATEM 2 ME (not 4K).

i'm using 1m/e 4k for 1 year now, i don't like to see this line at mine

Yep it still happens on my 2m/e running 6.2 . We power off at night and sometimes its there but sometimes its not. Haven't been able to find any rhyme or reason.
