Pocket UltraScope

PostWed May 25, 2016 4:04 pm

I have a Pocket UltraScope that I have never been able to make work on any computer, ever. I know there were some issues a few years ago, but it's still for sale on BMD's website. Shouldn't it work by now? I have never been able to open UltraScope. Retina MacBook Pro is the last computer I tried it on. Direct to the USB 3.0 port.

Any insight?

What other computers did you try using it on?

The issue is that on the mac the Pocket Ultrascope only supports up to Yosemite MacOS. (Even though in the documentation they say it supports up to El Capitan)

This is directly from the BMD Support Staff.

I really wish this would be fixed as it makes it impossible and inflexible to run this piece of hardware.

Blackmagic do you have any timeframe for when the latest MacOS will be supported by the Pocket Ultrascope?

Thought about starting a fresh topic but this might get more attention here...

I've just started using the BlackMagic Ultrascope and haven't had any issues launching and running the program on El Capitan through a retina-display MBP. However, using the full-screen feature has been pretty cumbersome. The only way I can get the Ultrascope program into full screen mode is to either change my laptop display to 1920x1200, or move my toolbar to the secondary display and then go full-screen. In both instances once Ultrascope is full-screen the "other" monitor goes black.

In a perfect world, I'm looking to have Ultrascope full-screen on a secondary monitor, and have the ATEM software controller open on my laptop display... Anyone ever been able to do this while using El Capitan?

Thanks,
-Al
